SLC Announces Improved ESOL Program

posted Feb 12, 2013, 10:26 AM by Jessica Reitz
Thanks to the energy of Susan White, a retired teacher who is passionate for the Spanish speaking community, we are pleased to announce that the SLC is able to reach out to non-English speakers on a large scale.

We serve our ESOL students in three ways:
They can attend an evening class with a team of tutors at Bon Secours Harbour View, 7:00 pm Monday Evenings.
They can have small group tutoring on Tues and Thurs mornings beginning at 9:30 am at the Workforce Development Center
They can be assigned one specific tutor to help them reach their English goals whether that be to earn a GED, speak unaccented English, or Citizenship

We hope to start more groups soon!
If you are interested in joining our team of tutors, call 514-7733 or e-mail tutorcoordinator@learn2readsuffolk.org;
we are planning another Tutor Training for March or April.
See you there!
